ENG
STOOL was designed in 2010 as part of the interior of the artists' dressing rooms at DeSingel in Antwerp. But it has also become part of many other interiors.
STOOL's design falls back on the archetype of the milk stool, which is part of the collective memory. STOOL captures this historical form in a new interpretation.
The oak seat assumes a typical two-dimensional directionality by extruding a slightly curved profile. This gives STOOL a distinctly stubborn frontal character. By combining several stools, STOOL can transform into a bench.
